Alexa's (late) 6 month photos!

Which one is the best? I can't decide! So many cute pictures! The hardest thing about this photo shoot was that it was impossible to keep Alexa still! She wanted to roll, crawl, pull up, suck her toes... What a squirmy baby!

Our last day at Grandma E's (video)

We packed up and hit the road around noon. But before we left, Alexa got to play with the fun musical chair one more time! Her cousin Allison played with her. Look how cute!

On our way home, Alexa took a turn at the wheel!

Alexa's first Passover!

What a great night. Alexa got dolled up in a cute dress. And she got to see a ton of family! Her cousins, great grandmother, great aunt, aunties and uncles... She was all smiles!

For dinner, Alexa sat in her high chair for part of the time, then on Mommy's lap. Then she sat on Daddy's lap as he read to hear about the child who doesn't know what to ask. Grandma E also held her, but she seemed distracted by Pop's bright orange yarmulke!

It was a great night. Alexa enjoyed her first Passover. And we enjoyed dinner when she fell asleep!

Here is Alexa with her great grandmother and all her cousins!

Alexa is cuddley in Kumquat PJs! (video)

We relaxed today at Grandma's house and Alexa played in her Kumquat PJs. Thanks to Auntie Lucille for the stack of adorable Kumquat outfits! Alexa really enjoyed playing on a rocking horse, another toy from cousin Amanda. Thanks, cousin Amanda!

Happy Birthday, Daddy! (video)

For Daddy's birthday, we drove up to New Jersey! Actually, we drove up for Passover with Daddy's family. But Saturday happened to be Daddy's birthday. So after some playtime on a few new toys at Grandma's house, Alexa went to bed and Daddy and Mommy went out to dinner in New York City! Yeah!

Here is Alexa with her old man... And having fun sitting and pulling up on her the new chair toy from cousin Amanda. What fun!

Alexa recognizes us!

There are photos of all the parents taped to the floor in Alexa's daycare center. The same photos also hang on each of the babies cribs so they can see familiar faces when they are going to sleep.

When I heard that, I thought it was a nice idea but I doubted that it made a difference. Well... Maybe I was wrong!

Daddy stopped by the daycare center today and Alexa had crawled over to the photo of us. I asked him if he thought Alexa recognized us and he said: "Yes she does. She was smiling and smacking it."

How cute! I wish I could have seen her in person! But Daddy gave me the next best thing... He took this photo on his iPhone and e-mailed it to me at work! Awwww... The photo of us was taken on our anniversary, Feb. 17, which was Alexa's first day at daycare.

Alexa watches history

I worked from home today because Alexa was under the weather. So she we watched the news while I worked! Today, President Obama signed the health care reform bill into law.

Later, when Daddy got home, she lit up! Yay, Daddy!

Alexa makes her American Idol picks!

Every year, mommy and daddy play in an American Idol pool... Yes, we are obsessed. We pick who gets voted off each week and the eventual winner for the chance to win some $$. This year, as we got ready to make our picks... Alexa wanted to play too! So... Here is Alexa, making her picks! (Hint: She has Siobhan winning it all!)

Baby Shower! My first hostess event...

Today, Alexa took off for a walk with Daddy to enjoy the nice weather while Mommy hosted a baby shower for our friend Libby! It was such a beautiful day and we all had such a great time. Alexa is SO EXCITED to meet her new little friend, who is expected to make her arrival June 1st!

Here is the spread, featuring a fabulous diaper cake, a delicious real cake, Whole Foods platters and yummy cake balls!

Alexa and Daddy got back at the end of the shower, just in time for her to show off her winning smile to all the ladies!

A beautiful Spring Day!

We had a busy but wonderful day today! First, we took Alexa to a local pottery store to make hand and foot prints! The prints will be dried and fired. Then we can go back and paint them before they are fired again!

After our pottery fun, we headed to brunch with a bunch of mom friends and their babies. Alexa slept in the stroller! How cute is she?!

Then we went for a nice walk on the Capitol Crescent Trail with my friend Coleen and her baby, Drew. We stopped at a park and Alexa and Drew went on the see-saw together. They they took turns in the swing! It was hot out, so Alexa took off her new kicks and went in the swing barefoot! Fun!

We went for a walk in the neighborhood in the afternoon.

What a great day! We had so much fun with Alexa!

Alexa's new kicks!

Since Alexa is pulling up now, we wanted to make sure she has shoes with rubber soles that grip the floor so she won't slide all over the place. So Alexa got her first pair of kicks! Check out this adorable pair of pink sneakers from Robeez. So cute!

She put them on right away...

I think she likes them! Yay for Alexa's kicks!

Alexa celebrate's St. Patrick's Day!

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, Alexa made four-leaf clovers with her footprints at daycare! Check it out! Another fabulous masterpiece by our budding artist.

And, in honor of St. Patrick's Day, Alexa wore a green onesie to daycare today. Here she is after we got home having a few laughs before dinner. So cute!

Alexa meets me after work!

As I was walking home after work today, Daddy and Alexa came out to meet me! The weather is so nice this week, and with the help of the Daylight Savings time switch, it's now light when we get home, which is so great.

We are doing a new schedule this week, where Daddy works from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. He then drives Alexa home while I work a little later and take the Metro home. Sometimes I get home first. Sometimes they get home first. But we are all getting home around 6:30 p.m.

That's a BIG improvement over getting home at 7:10 p.m., which is when we used to get home when Daddy worked until 6 p.m. and then picked me up at my office. So it's a wonderful change! We have so much more time to relax with Alexa, and give her dinner and a bath.
