Alexa is trying to crawl!

Today was a wonderful day! I started off by taking Alexa to the mall for Stroller Striders. I ate so much over the weekend (caramel popcorn!) that I had to work out! Then Daddy and I took Alexa downtown for lunch and a walk along the Capitol Crescent trail.

Here is adorable Alexa in her stroller with Daddy!

She loves that giraffe!

Thanks Aunt Kelly & Uncle Ben for the cute "Tree Huger" onesie!

When we got home that night, we put Alexa on her mat and she started something new... Getting up on her knees!

First she rolled. Now she's trying to crawl! She's not going anywhere yet, but it's not for lack of trying. Once Alexa rolls onto her tummy, she pushes up to her knees. She even pushes back on her legs like a "down dog" yoga pose! Oh, and she's also rolling from her tummy to her back now. Oh, the progress!

Alexa's first ride in her stroller - sans car seat!

It was a BEAUTIFUL day out on Saturday, so we decided to take a walk on the Capitol Crescent trail! Since Alexa is now a big girl who can hold her head up and roll over, we decided to try out her stroller without the car seat.

We lowered the stroller to the lowest setting so she could lie down. We then used a blanket to keep her head from flopping around.

She loved it! She looked around and then took a nap! Here is the view we have of Alexa throughthe clear windows on top of the stroller. (The photo is upside down because that is our view of her, get it?)

Walking the Capitol Crescent Trail

One of the really great things about Bethesda is all the running trails. A great one is the Capitol Crescent Trail, which runs from downtown Bethesda to downtown Washington, D.C. I have gone on walks down the trail with a couple different mommy friends. On a nice day, it's a great place to push your stroller!

On Friday, Alexa's daddy and I took the trolley to Bethesda Row and enjoyed a wonderful organic lunch at our new favorite place. Delish! Afterward, we walked down the Capitol Crescent Trail to Kenwood, enjoyed the swing set, then walked back. We also picked up some Halloween candy and a moustache... With Alexa snuggled in my Moby wrap, it was quite a work out for me to carry her!

Christmas in Bethesda!

We took a nice afternoon walk to Bethesda and got check out the new Christmas decorations! The whole downtown looked very festive. It'll be so pretty when it snows!

We also got to check out the Bethesda Farmer's Market, where we discovered The Souper Girl. Oh yeah... Fresh, homemade, organic soups! Yum! We have signed up and plan to order some as soon as we can!

I heart my Moby wrap!

Guess what came in the mail today?! My Moby wrap! I learned how to use several different baby slings and carriers at a class last Friday. My favorite ones were the Moby wrap and Maya sling.

Well... I found the Moby on sale for 15% off at Diapers.com and ordered one in black! Here is a picture of me using it to take Alexa on a walk on Wednesday.

And here is Dave, also using the same wrap, on another walk Wednesday.

What I love about the Moby is that it's soooo comfortable - and it has great back support. Plus it really holds the baby snug, so you have more freedom to move around with them.

Also, there are MANY ways to wrap the carrier... Pictured here is just one of the many styles!

Another great day for a walk!

Gorgeous day out again, so my friend Mary Clare came over with her baby Catherine for another walk. This time, we decided to break out our Baby Bjorn carriers. Our babies immediately fell asleep! So we made it to Starbucks and back with sleeping babies!

Oh, and we stopped at the Wiggle Room to pick up another Boppy nursing pillow so I can have one upstairs and one downstairs. Only $15! Score!

Finally, click HERE for your adorable Alexa video of the day!

I am cleared to exercise!

Today was a big day! Today, Alexa turned 6 weeks old. And today, I went in to see my doctor for my post-delivery check-up. I was given the thumbs up to exercise and promptly laced up my running shoes and went for a long walk!

I met up with my college friend Julia and her adorable baby girl to walk along the Capitol Crescent Trail. Once we started talking, we lost track of time and ended up walking about 3-4 miles roundtrip. It was such a beautiful day!

Goodbye Aunt Missy!

Aunt Missy had to take the train home today, so she said goodbye to Alexa by reading "Goodnight Moon" to her! How cute are they?!

Aunt Missy also gave Alexa this adorable bean hat, in honor of her nickname Lima Bean! So, of course, we dug out the cameras and did a little photo shoot...

Another Amazing day with Alexa!

Saturday was another day with great weather, so we walked to downtown Bethesda again!

This time, we stopped at Le Pain Quotidien for coffee and pumpkin pie. We also did a bit of light shopping, picking up a sun hat for Alexa at Daisy Baby (on sale for $4!) and some cute earrings for mommy at Ten Thousand Villages.

Here is Alexa hanging with Daddy and Grandma:
