Alexa's first finger painting!

Today, when we dropped Alexa off at daycare, all her teachers were wearing red and white striped hates in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday. Music was playing. It was a party! Alexa was excited to join the fun!

So, in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday, the babies did some finger painting! They painted the baby bird from "Are You My Mother?" We have that book and have read it to Alexa. Check out her artwork! Thank you to Daddy, who picked Alexa up at day care today, for taking this picture!

Here is the baby bird they painted today:

And here is Alexa's depiction of the baby bird:

It really looks like a baby bird! What a great painter she is!

Alexa isn't a sit still kind of baby!

When I dropped Alexa off at daycare this morning, her teacher put her in this little plastic ring where she could sit and play with a toy bar. There was only one problem. Alexa is not a sit still kind of baby!

I have seen other babies sitting in this same spot, and they seem pretty content to just sit and stare at the toys, or play with them. Alexa? Not so much. She pawed at the toys for a second before they lost her interest. And off she went!

Oh, and if you scroll down to last Wednesday... I just posted a new picture! I found out this morning that Alexa made her first art project! Last week, my first day at work, she worked with paint for the first time and made her first hand prints! So cute.

Our Adorable Alexa!

We went for a walk today and watched the U.S./Canada hockey game at a nearby restaurant. Alexa had a good time! She kept bouncing and smiling, making friends with the kids sitting at the next table. So cute! Here she is, hanging out in her chair when we got home. Our cutie pie!

Relaxing at home with our baby

We're all under the weather, so we spent the day at home relaxing. Meanwhile, Hawaii was under a tsunami warning so we followed the news all day while Grandma and Grandpa evacuated! Here's darling Alexa watching the news and playing with her music table. Click HERE to watch 15 seconds of Alexa cuteness!

My first day at work

It was a long day, but we survived! Alexa enjoyed a full day at daycare, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. She balked at taking her bottle at first, but eventually drank it all. And she had two naps as well! Her teachers said she was a very good girl and smiles all the time!

UPDATE: Check out this adorable hand print painting that Alexa made at daycare! Her first hand print. Awwww. I missed a first with her. My little baby is growing up too fast!

Meanwhile, Mommy enjoyed a full day at work. It's almost like I never left. I enjoyed getting Starbucks without having to unload the stroller, carseat, diaper bag, etc.

In the end, we were tired but it's nice to kick off the next chapter in our lives! This week, I am working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We can't wait for the weekend!

Last music class... And Alexa visits my office!

We had a busy but fun day today. We drove into the city for our last Infant Music Class at the JCC. Alexa loves this class! We sang some of her favorites... She bounced, rolled, rocked on her knees... And basically had a grand ol time!

After the class, Alexa took a nap and I had some lunch at a Starbucks near my office. Then we stopped by my office to introduce my co-workers to Alexa! She charmed them all. What a doll! Her is my pod-mate Bill entertaining Alexa. She was looking at all his toys!

Here is Alexa at my (messy!) desk. Look at her expression! Oh dear, maybe she knows Mommy will be coming back here without her...

When we got home, Daddy was waiting to play with Alexa! Click HERE to watch a video of Alexa creeping (crawling?) from one edge of the mat to the other! Wow!

Our little princess... She is just too cute!

A wonderful and relaxing day!

What a great day. My friend Libby came over to hang out and Alexa was on her best behavior. She said hello and then went down for her nap! Later, when she woke up, we played on her mat.

We also showed off Alexa's favorite yoga pose! Alexa can't wait until Libby's little one arrives so she can have another friend to play with!

After our visit, Alexa practiced sitting on the couch...

And then we went for a walk!

We got burgers and amazing chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich sliders... Yum! Here is Alexa and Daddy at Black Finn.

What a great day! (Alexa showing off Mommy's new diaper bag...)

Toes! Alexa can grab her toes!

Today, I left Alexa and Daddy for a few hours to go to brunch with some girlfriends. How cute are they! Daddy and Alexa!

Later, Daddy left Alexa with me to go play cards with his friends. As I was getting Alexa ready for her bath, she started grabbing onto her feet. It was so cute!

(Her interest in her feet started last night when she started grabbing at the little critters on the feet of her pjs, pictured above. It was hilarious!)

Babies! Holy cute babies!

Alexa and I started the day with a good Stroller Strides workout. Then we headed over to my friend Blythe's house for a mom's group get-together. Before we all left, we piled the babies onto the couch!

First, the girls! Anjali, Alexa and Ella. Check out how Alexa and Anjali are holding hands. They did that on their own. So cute!

All the babies in a row!
(L to R: Brandon, Avery, Anjali, Alexa, Ella and Drew)

Brandon & Drew hanging out with Ella & Alexa, then Drew pushes Alexa and Brandon aside and goes after Ella! So funny!

Then Ella went after Drew's hat! Brandon attempted to come to the rescue... But Alexa wasn't having any of it. Enough baby play! (Even when she cries, Alexa is so darn cute!)

Alexa charms everyone at my doctor's office!

I had a doctor's appointment today, and Alexa came with me. She was a good girl and slept through most of the visit. Then she woke up at the end, so my doctor held her while I got ready to go. I looked up and all the nurses had gathered around while Alexa smiled and charmed them all!

Here is Alexa with the doctor who took care of her in my tummy! This is the doctor we were with when we saw Alexa, aka "Lima Bean," for the first time on the sonogram machine.

Unfortunately, my doctor didn't deliver Alexa since another doctor was on call that day. But she was at the hospital the night I was admitted and the weekend after my delivery. It was great to see her! And she was very excited to see Alexa again!

Alexa's 1st day of daycare

Today was our 2nd wedding anniversary, so we dropped Alexa off for her first day of day care and spent the day relaxing. Alexa was having so much fun with her toys on the mat when I left that she wouldn't even look up at the camera!

Here is Alexa when we picked her up. She got to ride in this bus!

Today was Mommy & Alexa day!

With the latest snowfall over, Daddy headed to work and I took Alexa to our last Mommy/Baby Yoga class. It's our last one because I'm headed back to work next week. But even so, it would be our last one anyway because Alexa is moving too much for yoga!

In the class, we put the babies on their mat and they are supposed to STAY where we put them. Not Alexa! She scooted all over the place, impressing the other mom's with her "plank" and "down dog" yoga poses! So... No more yoga classes for Alexa!

After yoga, I took Alexa to coffee. And she was a good girl and sat in her high chair so I could eat my soup! What a cutie pie. My little princess!

Alexa loves reading, dancing & singing with Daddy!

Daddy was off today for the President's Day holiday. So we had a wonderful family day! Starting with some crawling practice... Now that Alexa is "scooting" across the floor, we broke out some new toys for her to "scoot" toward, like this musical toy from her Great Grandmother!

Then Daddy read some Mother Goose rhymes to Alexa. Thank you to Winnie and Jessie for making this awesome book!

After dinner, we put on some tunes and Daddy danced with Alexa! She loves dancing and singing with her Daddy!
