Celebrating Alexa's Birthday!

Grandma E and Aunt Missy came to visit us today, so we dressed up Alexa in a cute birthday outfit and took her out for a fun day in Bethesda!

Alexa is ONE MONTH old!

Wow, time flies! It's already been ONE MONTH since Alexa was born. She is growing and doing great. I mean, how cute is she?! Here are her one-month pictures, thanks to my collection of stickers from Picky Sticky. We'll be sporting a different one each month this year!

Alexa's first restaurant visit!

Thursday was a beautiful Fall day, so we walked into Bethesda for lunch at Jaleo - Alexa's first restaurant visit! She slept most of the way, then woke up when the food arrived and decided it was time for her to eat as well!

Walking home, we used cousin Samantha's sun hat! It was too big, but got the job done! The whole trip sure tired Alexa out. She slept like a champ!

Alexa meets Grandpa & Mema!

Papa Bean's dad and stepmom came to visit! Bearing Tiki masks and all sorts of goodies for our yard and baby Alexa! So we did what we do best... We grilled out!

Alexa takes a bath... In her new bunny towel!

Taking a bath is fun... When you have a cute bunny towel with your name on it! Thanks to Papa Bean's friend for the gift. She loved it!

Alexa hits a bar... And loves her activity mat!

This afternoon, as we walked to Bethesda, we decided to stop in for a quick drink at Black Finn. It was only 3:30 p.m., so the bar was empty and it was a perfect time to sneak in with a baby. And she didn't even get carded! Meanwhile, I had been craving a Guinness my whole pregnancy... Yum!

Later this evening, we broke out Alexa's activity gym. She loved it!

Alexa's eyes... Are from her daddy!

A big mystery since birth has been Alexa's blue/grey eyes! Since both of us have brown eyes, we were surprised to see our baby have such fair eyes.

As some of you might recall, we did some family research a while back and found out that our baby would have a 5.5% chance of having green eyes and a 1.8% chance of having blue eyes. Brown eyes? We have a whopping 92.5% chance!

So... What gives? Why the gorgeous steely blue/grey eyes?

We just got a surprise in the mail from Papa Bean's mom: Papa Bean's baby book! And... It turns out that he too had blue/grey eyes at birth!

Mystery solved Her eyes are from her daddy! But they most likely will, like his, turn brown as she gets older.

Alexa's first message!

A visit from Scooter & family!

Another great day with Alexa! And since the weather was also great, we got to sit outside and hang out with Papa Bean's friend Scooter and his wife and two adorable little girls.

The girls are age 7 and 4 and have the most gorgeous eyelashes! Here is the eldest, Evie, holding Alexa. Aren't they the cutest EVER?!

Our first 'Taste of Bethesda'!

The weather was great on Saturday, so we had a nice brunch outside on our patio before saying goodbye to Aunt Kelly and Uncle Ben!

Then Papa Bean and I took Alexa to check out the Taste of Bethesda! The path near our house took us straight there!

We used the Baby Bjorn again and Alexa loved it! Well we assume she did since she slept the whole time!

Finally, we ended the day by giving Alexa her FIRST bottle! Our hungry little baby took it immediately. Must have been all the goodies mommy ate at the Taste of Bethesda!

Alexa's first hike!

Well, sort of.

Today was my sister and her husband's last day in DC, so we took them out to Great Falls to enjoy the beautiful day! We walked with them to the scenic lookout and then hung out while they went on the Billy Goat Trail hike!

The occasion meant breaking out our Baby Bjorn for the first time. Alexa LOVED it!

Some photos of our day...

Aunt Kelly & Uncle Ben visit Alexa!

My sister and her husband are visiting us this week! They have been a HUGE help! Not only are they good with Alexa, but they have been cooking us amazing dinners and helping with laundry. It's sooooo wonderful to have the extra hands! Plus, they're fun too.

Here are some pictures of Aunt Kelly and Alexa!
