Busy day, lots of photos! (video)

We woke up on Saturday to a happy baby ready to play! Mommy and Daddy had fun laughing with our little doll. And how cute is this outfit? Answer: So cute!

After our pretty baby got tired of playing with us, we turned to several new toys, courtesy of family and friends: A drum that lights up when you touch it, a cell phone (what every girl needs!) and, of course, a baby doll!

Finally, when all toys failed, it was time to eat lunch! Alexa looks mighty tiny in this high chair, but she ate like a giant! She even tried sucking on a bagel, which she appeared to enjoy. Click HERE to watch our little darling having her lunch. (In case you are wondering, she is eating prunes & oatmeal from Earth's Best.)

After Alexa ate lunch, it was time for Mommy & Daddy to eat lunch too! So off we went to the Ritz Diner... Alexa's first time at the Ritz! She sat in a high chair like a big girl and played with her toys. Yay!

For desert, we met up with Daddy's friend Brian and his baby Jason for some ice cream! We even let the babies in on the fun: They got to try some plain frozen yogurt. After making a face, Alexa seemed to enjoy it and soon could not eat it fast enough! I think that means it's time to introduce yogurt to her meals!

And finally, after ice cream, we proceeded to the park for a nice walk and swing time. Grandma E met us at the park. Do you think we took enough pictures of our darling little cutie pie?

Alexa gets her Hebrew name: Zameret Aviva

Today was a big day for us! We drove up to New Jersey for Alexa's baby naming, held at the Temple where Daddy had his bar mitzvah. Alexa and another baby were named during the regular Shabat service. Basically, the Rabbi called us up to the front where he talked about Alexa's Hebrew name and who she's named for, then welcomed her to the Jewish community.

Alexa's Hebrew name is the most beautiful name ever! It's Zameret Aviva, chosen for her great grandmother Freida Singer and her uncle Alan. Zameret is the Hebrew word for Singer; Aviva means Spring, or renewal. So her Hebrew name means Spring Song. On this beautiful Spring day, it was a fitting name indeed!

Here is Alexa in her beautiful navy and white dress with Mommy and Daddy right before her naming. She looks nervous! Below are the three of us after her naming. Have you ever seen a more beautiful baby?! I didn't think so!

Everyone in Daddy's family was there, plus a bunch of Daddy's friends too! It was great to see everyone and introduce them all to our little princess. She was a hit!

Alexa was such a good baby. The service ran from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., which is Alexa's bed time. But she didn't cry! In fact, she had a ball. Here she is playing with her cousins!

Keys! Alexa loves her keys!

Alexa's favorite toy of the moment... A set of plastic keys! She LOVES them. (Thanks, Mema Wanda!) So yummy to eat and rattle. Not sure what this means that she is already playing with toy cars and keys. She better not think this means she will one day be allowed to drive? No driving. Not until she is 30. At least.

Alexa sports a MOHAWK!

Look what happens when you leave Alexa and Daddy alone for 5 minutes in the bath... Our little girl gets a mohawk! What a riot. She's a rocker girl! Riot chic! Too cool for school! Oh, and if you are wondering how she learned those big mouth-wide-open smiles, check out who she is copying. Yeah, Daddy. Sweetie pie, you shouldn't copy ALL of Daddy's expressions! Doh!

Our little girl is DEFINITELY going to Hollywood!

Only time will tell if Alexa gets Mommy and Daddy's inability to sing, or whether she will have the chops to take it all the way to stardom on American Idol! In the meantime, it sure looks like she has the stage presence to make it to Hollywood. Check out our little diva! She is a social butterfly who is always ready with a big smile. Yay, Alexa!

Alexa loves her V-Dub!

Daddy was off today, so he took Alexa along with him on all his errands! Allergy shot. Apple store. Volkswagen service station. Apparently Alexa loved playing with a toy V-dub in the play room at the Volkswagen service station. Check it out! So cute!

Another great day with Miss A!

Today, Miss Alexa got all dressed up and we headed out to Virginia to check out Aunt Chimmy's new townhouse. Alexa loved it! Tons of new carpet space to crawl on and TONS of moving boxes to pull up on! Aunt Chimmy baked a delicious brunch and we had a nice meal while Alexa played on the floor. She then ate some applesauce and played some more! Then slept as we drove home. What an easy baby! Unfortunately, I forgot my camera battery so we have no pictures.

When we got home, we went for a walk and I tried out my Moby carrier with Alexa facing out. She loved it! So much to look at!

For dinner, she had Carrots & Tomato in her high chair! Because... Earlier today, Alexa managed to GET OUT of her Bumbo chair! So, we decided to move her into her high chair, which was a gift from Aunt Jen, Aunt Kelly & Uncle Ben (thanks, guys!) It still seems a bit big for her, but she's slowly getting used to it!

A beautiful day with Alexa, who is CRAWLING and KISSING and just generally SO CUTE! (video)

We walked to downtown Bethesda today with a neighbor friend to check out the Celebrate Mama festival, what fun! We got a bunch of free stuff, like organic puffs and travel hand sanitizer and some magnets. We also checked out a new self-serve frozen yogurt place. Mommy and Daddy enjoyed some fro-yo while Alexa got some applesauce!

We stopped at a park on the way home so Alexa could swing. Look at her go! She was laughing and smiling and having a ball! Smiley Alexa!

So you're wondering about the CRAWLING and KISSING? Turns out, Alexa has started crawling with her knees! The ladies at daycare said she's been doing it for a while, but she still gets places faster with her commando crawl. Click HERE to see for yourself!

Now, about that kissing. She's started planting some big wet ones on me! And check it out... She's even kissing herself! Click HERE to see the funniest thing ever. Thanks Grandma Lil for the mirror... She, um, LOVES it!

"Flower" by Alexa Leilani

Another daycare art project by our darling Alexa. She is so talented, right? I know, I know, SO TALENTED! Our own little Picasso Baby. Now the question... Do I frame it? ;-)

"Footprints" by Alexa Leilani

Created on April 12. What a cute project! Of course, Alexa is a pro at footprints already. So it's no surprise that she did such a good job. In fact, I have to tell you that her footprints are much better than any of the footprints made by the other babies.

Hers are so authentic yet have an artistic touch that makes them very organic and extremely relevant. You might notice how the footprint on the bottom left is saturated in paint while the footprint on the top right is lighter in color. I believe she has hidden a secret message in this layout and color depiction that could reveal a key to immortality! If nothing else, it certainly shows an extremely elevated level of awareness on her part, not to mention an out of this world I.Q.!

My little doll!

Alexa loves playing with ALL of her toys, in her toy bin! What a cutie pie. She's my favorite toy! My little doll!

Welcome Annika and Anne!

Alexa is very excited for the arrival of two new girlfriends! Baby Annika Suzanne was born Sunday morning at 2:40 a.m., arriving early and weighing 5 pounds and 11 ounces. Then, baby Anne Elizabeth was born Monday night at 9:33 p.m., also early, weighing in at 3 pounds and 1 ounce. It's amazing to think that Alexa (7 pounds, 12 ounces) was a giant compared to them!

To the left is baby Annika, the daughter of our former downstairs neighbors Elizabeth and Kyle. What a cutie pie! Great name. We can't wait to meet her. Alexa has already offered to show her the ropes.

And below is my dear friend Libby with her husband and little baby Anne! It's amazing that after giving birth, Libby looks so good. What a glow. Alexa "met" baby Anne when she was still in Libby's tummy. She can't wait to meet her in person! But she really can't wait until baby Anne is big enough to play! We are sending all our love and best wishes that baby Anne will grow enough to go home from the hospital soon!

Yankees at the White House!

What fun. The Yankees were honored at the White House for their World Series win and both Daddy and I got to be there. I thought about trying to sneak Alexa in, but party crashing isn't her style. Besides, she's too young to really remember much. Once she is older, I'll have to see about trying to get her in to see the Yankees! Obviously I fully expect the Yankees to keep winning...

Daddy's coming home today! (video)

In honor of Daddy coming home today, Alexa put on a pretty new dress! See how cute she is? We also put the legs on her music table (not pictured) but she liked the box better...

Click HERE to see her having fun copying Mommy.

After dropping Grandma E off at the Metro, Alexa and I took a little walk and went to the park. I drank some coffee and she enjoyed the swing! Then we went to pick up Daddy at the airport! When we got home, we went for a walk around the 'hood!
